This was the view from the former resort in the previous photo. While a tsunami did once hit the area the restaurant complex in the mid 70s, the restaurant did reopen and was very popular and successful. The new owner of the land took over operations in the 80s /90s and the restaurant closed. The last owner was Roberts Hawaii (green bus company) let the buildings rot unused for nearly 20 years leaving them in the condition they are today. The area was purchased during the pandemic and the new owner is trying to get things cleaned up, but things move slow. (I didn't really see any evidence of progress...)
