The asbestos mill was supported on these cement piers stepping down from a road on the hillside above. It was built in 1952 at the site of an older mill which was built in 1928 and removed during the depression in the 1930s. This one burned down in 1961 and remains of the ore grinding and processing equipment were removed. Apparently the ore was dumped in at the top from ore trucks.
