GH hates climbing over barbed wire fences and now I know why. On the way to another hilltop ruin he lost his balance while trying to step over the wires and fell backwards with his trekking poles and one foot tangled up in the wire. Fortunately he was wearing his leather rose pruning gloves and avoided ripping up his hands on the barbed wire. His backpack cushioned the fall. Too bad he wasn't wearing those gloves on his fall two days before.
