Catching a reflection of some hilltops of the Bear River Range. The Logan River is a 53.7-mile-long tributary of the Little Bear River. It is currently being studied to determine whether it is suitable for National Wild and Scenic Rivers designation. Some movies and pictures from my time in this area: [ youtube video ]

An Enduring Legacy
Both canals have remained an integral part of the character of Cache Valley, Logan Canyon, and the Logan River for well over 100 years. While portions of the open canals have been replaced by a box culvert pipeline that sits on the original blasted rock shelf, their history and purpose has not been lost. They remain a testament to the hard work and ingenuity of the region's early settlers, and the legacy of the canals will continue into the future by providing water for agriculture in Cache Valley.
The rock trough that was contracted for the Logs Hyde Park and Smithfield Canal lasted over 100 years.
