At the TH at 0630. I am not alone. I did the 4.5 miles one way as described in the book, Tortuga Trail plus Elephant Mountain. Probably what appealed to me the most about this hike was the primitive feel of it. The route seemed to have a little bit of everything in it. Kept thinking I would see some four-legged wildlife but it didn't happen (though I did smell a skunk). Perhaps if you're expecting to see something it just doesn't happen. Surprised with my time, thought it would take longer. Just a great hike, really happy I did it.
