Did a little extra hiking today to take pictures and check distances. I have my State Trust Land Permit so I hike out on the state trust land a little. Cave Creek was running a little today and several groups were enjoying the creek with their dogs. Cave Creek does dry up in the summer. There is a little trail - Metate trail to Towhee Trail (see map) that is a pleasant little hike that should be very colorful in the spring. I took 80 pictures and I think it took longer to edit it down to the 12 pictures posted than it took to hike the trail.
In the summer I carry 100 oz of water in my Camelbak, but I think that I would cache some water as I leave the creekbed to start the hike up. |
