| partners | | This was a fun day, too... The Wolfman Panel was spectacular - I could stare at it for hours. There is something about these remote, unsigned sights that make them more magical than those with parks and rules built around them. The bushwhack to the ruins was a blast, and I'd love to try again to find the other ruins that are reportedly upstream from there.
The second part of the outing, with the attempts to reach the confluence of the Comb Wash and Butler Wash was both rewarding and frustrating. Massive pour-offs kept blocking our path, and my enthusiasm sent me on a spill which (as it turns out) resulted in a mild sprain to my good ankle and a bruise the size tea saucer on my knee. Well, it's not a hike unless Wendy takes a spectacular tumble, is it?!
Thanks to all for a great trip, fun company and sharing of tales around the dinner table. It was worth the drive just for that alone! |
