| no partners | | | I forgot to get fuel for my upcoming trip, so instead of going more directly to the Kane Gulch Ranger Station from Mexican Hat, I took the long way around through Blanding to pick up a canister at Ace Hardware. That gave me an excuse to go via Hwy 95, which was new territory for me. Along the way, I couldn't resist stopping at the "official" Butler Wash Ruins. The lot was crowded with RVs and trailers, and I made the pavement-bound visitors nervous with the hiking equivalent of coloring outside the lines. I think I saw a decent approach, but refrained from actually trying it, although I did take pictures from somewhere not inside the little fenced-in rectangle. |
