Great hike w/ great company. Saw an unconcerned hog snake, some friendly white tail deer, a few hawks, and a lot of turkey vultures. Thanks again to Wally for driving and for the buck so I could buy a $1.50 soda @ Tortilla Flat. Thanks again to Dave for setting this up.
The wildflower tag of "Moderate" is somewhat misleading because there was either a spectacular show or a whole lot of grass. Someone (RedRox44) wrote that this year is likely to be a "grass" year, and there's a lot of it. This is a very pretty area, and I hope to have my pictures up soon.
I wore my B-level boots, and I'm planning on burning them all the way down to carbon so I don't make the mistake of wearing them again. My big toes feel like Godzilla stepped on them.
