| partners | | Always a pleasure hiking with John. Thanks again for driving and the great grub @ Chalo's in Globe. The trip to Globe started out on a bad foot because US 60 was closed @ the eastern end of Superior so we had to take the scenic route through Hayden and Winkelman before ending up @ the eastern side of Globe. Also did the Ferndell Trail which is in terrible shape, and the upper portion of Sixshooter before its termination at the Middle Trail. Great weather, and the Pinals are always great. I'm going to post only the Pioneer Trail #196 portion of our GPS route because there's no default route of the complete trail.
Note: all of the signage referred to this as the "Squaw Springs Trail #196." The Tonto NF website refers to it as the Pioneer Trail #196. The signs at both the lower- and upper ends looked to be fairly new as they haven't been shot yet. |

| | Water was coming out of the pipe as fast as ever, and I've never seen it dry. There was also a very good flow coming out of the ground just inside the fence above the pipe. This flow was at least 10 gallons-per-minute. | | _____________________
