| no partners | | Saturday, April 24, 2010 I was looking for an easier hike at relatively lower elevations with no snow to deal with. I came up with the Devisadero Loop (Carson trail 108) located just 3 miles from Taos city. This very pleasant trail is easy to follow and goes to Devisadero Peak at 8,304 feet and yields some terrific views of beautiful Taos city and the surrounding mountains.
I met 2 locals on the route. Both use this trail for an exercise hike because it is a beauty and close to home for them.
The loop is less than 6 miles with an elevation gain of 1,100 feet (AEG about 1,300 feet). I finished at 12:10 PM allowing me to return to Angel Fire and get packed for an early departure for the 557 mile drive home Sunday morning. |
