| no partners | | | I started out early from the house I live in the Deer creek subdivision only about 13 miles from the turn off to fr 201,got to the TH at about 7:30 I drive pretty slow on that road, it's about 10 miles from Hwy 87 to the trail head,it was about 76 degrees, a partly cloudy morning with a small active storm cloud moving by to the south, I walked 1/2 mile to the intersection of the Mazatzal divide trail #23 and the Cornucopia #86 where I heard sounds of Bears down below in the canyon to the east and I noticed allot of Bear droppings along the trail,I started to make noise to alert the Bears of my presence and continued along the trail I walked about another mile or so and continued to hear allot more Bear activity,as I made it to thicket spring where I desided to turn back and return to the truck, Wow, I guess I should trade my backpack load from hikng equipment to Hunting equipment. I was alone or I would have kept going,my Partner was late leaving from the Valley and didn't get to the trail head until 10:30 ish |
