Wasn't bad, took a little bit to find the trail but for the most part the trail is highly used and easy to follow once you find it. Its a bit past pinyon campground but isn't very obvious just look for another trail zipping off to the right. You cross a dry river bed and then you start to see the cairns and it pretty easy to see them from then on. The rocks aren't a big deal to get buy just have to do a little climbing. You go over two valleys to get to buff springs. After the second valley you will climb up another valley and you will hit Terrapin trail and go right. then follow that to Buff Springs which is clearly marked by a sign. If you have trouble finding trails or have no sense of direction I highly suggest not trying this trail. I went on a day where it was wicked cold 39 degrees out, bit nippy but rarely saw anyone which I love. |
