We started our hike at 5:45am. Neither of the girls had ever done this hike. I knew it would be a tough one for these two, but kind of kept that to myself. I just kept telling them we were close. By the time they started to get suspicious, we were crossing the creek and the big slick rock basin was right around the corner.
The girls took several quick breaks along the way, but deserved their moment for a victory pose (Wendy) at our destination. After a short rest, I was able to get them to hobble a few more feet up to the waterfall which was at a slow trickle.
We continued back down and finished up the hike at 7:25am.
There is enough light in the morning sky now to think about a quick run up to Flatiron some morning. One of my goals is to be able to hike Flatiron before I go to work. Need to be back down by 7:30am. |
