Still working on my photography project, so i decided to go on this hike, which i've wanted to do since I saw Joel's incredible photos from there. I've been recovering from a pulled calf muscle, and I was probably at 75%. To keep from tightening up, I pushed myself more than I usually do, and I tired myself out quick. I saw tons of people on the trail, but once I got over the ridge(whatever you wanna call it), I only saw a couple people. I found the composition I wanted with about an hour until good light, so I passed the time by listening to Stone Temple Pilots, throwing rocks at agaves, and pacing back and forth. At one point a humming bird flew over by me and was bathing in the water, which was interesting. I really only took 2 pictures, but I wanted to post them on here so I put a self portrait, and a snap shot of the area, on the way back. The hike back was pretty creepy...it seemed like every couple hundred feet or so, some kind of critter would scurry by or rustle around in the bushes, and this is how i felt the entire time :scared: To make it even worse...I came from the crosscut trail because I'm a poor college student and I don't have the money to spend on the shortcut through the park.
