| no partners | | I was just going thru one of my external hard drives looking for pics of the 2004 Willow Fire and found some additional photos from the hike earlier in the day. What I particulary remember about this counter-clockwise hike was the changing environments, especially as you made your way on the northwest side of the lake as you ventured into areas covered in ferns. And then there was the changing hue of light on the west side too as you cross over to the south side of the lake and head east.
It was a great day for a hike. We left my mom with her outdoor chair and footstool at one of the viewing/hang out areas while we went around the lake. I'm thinking it took us around 3 hours. We got to see lots of varied flora and fauna along the way. Among other things we were intrigued by the fallen trees that had rocks attached to their roots.
Flipping thru the edited photos, some of the ones I kept were framed. I hardly ever do that now but there is one I particularly like the picture so I'm including it in the photo set. |

For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled. |
