The forest is very healthy (little evidence of burns or beetle kill), and it's a mix of ponderosa pine, white fir, aspen, and a bit of Douglas-fir. The hike up to Hualapai Peak is pretty easy, but there's a good bit of steepness right toward the end. I missed the easy route up to the summit and ended up doing lots of class 4 climbing to get up there. The views from the top are right up there with Humphreys (which was easily visible to the E-NE), Brown's, and Wrightson. The descent was uneventful and pleasant. |
