| partners | | After our 4x4 drive & hike to the multiple overlooks in the southern shadow of Armer Mountain, remembering out ruin finds last June in the valley below, we decided to do some more ruin searching. We drove past the two sites we located last year and continued to the end of the road, although by time it terminated it was barely an ATV track.
As we approached the end we noticed a high point to the left with some rocks that just could be remnants of an old wall. That's all it took and we were on foot and headed up the hill. It may not have been much of a settlement or overlook, but there was enough evidence to determine there were more than a couple 'rooms'. One flat area in the center appears to have been a common courtyard.
We wandered up and down hoping to find stray shards with eagle-eye Tracey in pottery shard-finding mode. I might see animals first, be she's the one who can locate the smallest items. Although she was quite successful on our ruin-finds last June, on this occasion there were none to be found. But then with all the hunters through this area over the years and the amount of deterioration of the site we didn't have high hopes. Still, it's another ruin site we've added to our find-list.
I'll post an abbreviated photoset here on HAZ and the rest will be included in a 95 photo set of the overlooks we visited earlier:
