| partners | | While doing needed yard work this morning our neighbor asked why we weren't out hiking on such a fine day... which was enough to quickly wrap up the chores and go for a hike. But what to do... we didn't feel like hiking very far or driving far to the hike.
Then Tracey came up with the idea of checking out other canyon areas on the western edge of the Supes. And I thought, how about following mnlumberjack's advice and drive out toward Hog Canyon TH from the west end of Cloudview Ave in Gold Canyon so whatever wandering we did wouldn't take as long. And that's just what we did. From the Hog Canyon TH we set out straight east to the canyon halfway between Hog Canyon and Hieroglyphics Canyon. Although not really planning to go far we continued all the way up to a dry falls area when it was time to turn around to make it back before sunset. While it was a short hike there were some great views and enough things of interest to come back with more time in hand and continue up and over the first ridge and possibly return down Hog Canyon. |
