So in 2007, I joined facebook - not because I wanted to re-connect with friends that I've lost contact with or to engage in some self-serving social media drama circus by posting opinions and my daily thoughts and events as if they were important enough to make public, but to play Scrabble. Back then it was Scrabulous, which is a complete rip-off of Scrabble.

Oddly, I was mostly playing people that were overseas, mostly in Dubai and India. One thing that I learned is that a lot of Americans and Brits live in Dubai and find it boring. I also learned about the slave trade there (https://www.youtube.com/embed/gMh-vlQwrmU). I met a woman from India playing Scrabulous who worked as a pre-school teacher in Dubai. We hit it off great and started to chat daily. She wanted to move the US, and I told her that if she was in the area to look me up. I also began to tell her all sorts of things, some of which was embarrassing, and began to become a little flirtatious and scurrilous, bordering on being offensive, but she took it like a champ and a friendship formed. Then when Hasbro sued Scrabulous, it was removed from facebook and our contact pretty much ended, so I thought.

Then in July, I get an email stating that she was in St. George with her sister and asked if I lived close enough to come by. Hell yeah, I was, and we planned a trip to Zion and Bryce Canyon. We only drove thru Zion and I had some knee issues so I had to do Bryce in crutches, which was not as hard as I thought it would be. I was able to most of the trails, except Rainbow Point.

I was late picking her up because I was looking for snakes on the back roads on way up. I told that I saw 5 (3 blacktails, 1 mojave, and 1 d-back). She acted as if she cared, but I could tell that she wasn't impressed. She was, however, impressed with the canyons, as was I. She was a vegetarian, which means that I had to be a vegetarian too that weekend. She also reminded me of all the acerbic and embarrassing things that I said in the past, some of which I forgot about. I told her that if I knew that we were going to meet, then I would have never of said those things. She was cool about it.

Anyway, after we parted, she ended up working and living in West Chester PA, which is close to my hometown and we saw each other a few more times. She then got married to a New Yorker and was supposed to move to Florence, AZ, but I've lost contact with her. Anyway, that's my triplog. Hopefully, I'll make it up to Bryce again in 2014.
