After visiting family in Eagar/Springerville during the weekend, we decided to detour to Lyman Lake State Park on the way home. I read the boards on the way in, and saw that there were petroglyphs on the rocks around the lake. I wanted to go find them, so I grabbed a bottle of water and set off. The trail was well built, easy to follow, and just a small climb up to the top. There are several little side trails you can take to see different petroglyphs. Very easy for most, and I really enjoyed myself. The view from the top was pretty cool too. Not long after we visited, the forest service closed the place. |
