Friday night buggy ride! Yay!! Our objective for Friday nights is usually just to get out of the house (this translates to away from the phone), unwind, de-stress, and look for wildlife. Tonight I wanted to find an Antelope Jackrabbit to take a picture of, plus hoping to see any deer we could.

We left the house around 6 p.m., up until then it was questionable whether we would go or not because of storms in the area. Our Friday night trips always involve crossing the San Pedro, and it's always a question whether it will be running too high to get back. Well, we finally looked at the clouds, and said why not. Let's chance it. So away we went.

The San Pedro was running, although not too high. It had been higher earlier in the week, and today it was muddy. Hubby is looking at me and saying "are you sure this is a good idea?" I answered "Of course it is! Our most fun trips always involve Grants Wash and flash floods!" As it turned out, we didn't get any more rain than had already fallen while we were at work, and the weather was absolutely beautiful and cool.

Our path was across the San Pedro, up Grant's Wash through Putnam Spring, then we joined the Arizona Trail #14 where it leaves Bloodsucker Wash on the two-track, headed toward Antelope Peak. Before we dropped into Putnam Wash, there's another two-track that heads south, and we took that route. It heads south for a few miles, then loops back into Grants Wash. It's usually a good route for seeing antelope jacks and deer. No such luck this trip, everything was still hiding from the storms I think. Anyway, we did see lots of cows, some have new babies (too far away for pics, though), and we never get tired of the scenery. We were back home by 8:30. Another beautiful way to end the week!

Wildlife we did see: Red Tailed Hawk, Gambel's Quail families, cotton tails and black tailed jackrabbits.
