| partners | | My second of four planned (June-Sept) "5 night/6 day" car camping/hiking/R&R summer heat escape visits to my favorite Coconino NF- Mogollon Rim camping and hiking area (at 7450+ feet elevation with week lows 52-64F and highs only 78-84F)
I had only two priorities this trip: 2 planned days of hiking in the area and 2 planned days of doing nothing but R & R around the campsite area. Mission accomplished!
The day before my planned Wed-7/11 departure I received a surprise PM from our HAZ- Oregon Hiker(Larry) who wanted to know more about my recommended Mogollon Rim campsites as he was planning a 10 day AZ high-country car camping adventure to see more of his new Arizona home. I was happy to learn that his departure and camping plans included our Mogollon Rim area for a few days. Larry camped at my recommended "Camp Grasshopper-Mogollon Rim C/Site#2" for five days from Wed-7/11 to Mon-7/16. We enjoyed visiting and Larry also joined me for two planned hikes.
Also, on Fri-7/13 our HAZ- Trishness(Trish) joined me for two days/nights of weekend camping/R&R and I discovered that she is some very strong competition for my self proclaimed "outdoor camping chef" (I'm just an outdoor camping chef of comfort foods..Trish is more a gourmet, quality outdoor camping chef ).. Please see my picset.
Thank you both for joining me! It was another most amAZing week on our Mogollon Rim. |
