| partners | | My third of four planned (June-Sept) "5 night/6 day" car camping/hiking/R&R summer heat escape visits to my favorite Coconino NF- Mogollon Rim camping and hiking area (at 7450+ feet elevation with week lows 48-54F and highs only 75-80F). There was daily & nightly Monsoon rain this trip which helped to keep the Rim August temps at a very nice range. 
Like my July visit, I had only two priorities this trip: 2 planned days of hiking in the general area and 2 planned days of doing nothing but R & R around the campsite area. My actual was 2.5 days of hiking with some interesting Forest Road exploring.. Mission still accomplished!
With this third trip I have now completed and documented on HAZ four off-trail hike descriptions to include Middle Bear Canyon, Bear Canyon Main-Upper, West Bear Canyon, and East Bear Canyon (with Middle, West, and East Bear Canyons promising some hopeful excellent Mogollon Rim prime Autumn (~mid October)  Big Tooth Maple and Aspen colors.
Thanks to Larry and Trish for driving up to join me for overnights at the campsite, good conversation, great meals to share, and enjoyable exploratory hikes. Thanks also to Richard and his wife for stopping by to visit Sat-8/25 after their Houston Brothers Trail hike (good to see you two again at "Camp Grasshopper" after a whole year).
