I started on Forest Road 349 from the US60 across from the Pinto Mine operation, following it until it became FR2 and continuing all the way south to Sixty-Six Ranch where it became Dripping Springs Road. I followed that to the northern end of the Dripping Springs Mountains where I turned back west, following an old mining/jeep(?) road as far toward Rawhide Canyon as I reached from FR2466 last week before turning around and heading back to the Mineral Creek trailhead for my hike.
By time I finished the hike, it was raining in sheets over the route I had taken down here from the north, so I decided to head west to try to stay ahead of the rain. After all, I didn't want to be attempting the very steep climbs on muddy hills. But to do so meant I had to take the roughest route while attempting to keep a fast enough pace to stay ahead of the rain. Although a very rough ride I just managed to do that, reaching the US60 just when the light drizzle turn to heavy rain. The Samurai got to enjoy its first thorough wash in some time.
Only 14 photos so I'll probably post all on HAZ as well as on my website here:
