| partners | | After doing AB Young from the Top down, we went back North on FR 231 to another spot we'd passed on the way in.
Substitute 2
Another one I'd never done. The West Fork of Oak Creek, from the Top Down, is also not as popular as the as from starting down on 89a. I was surprised that when we got there, there were 3 other vehicles parked there (We never saw anyone). We hiked a couple of miles down to "Sample" the area, before some of the members in our group had to get back to their wife's.
There is an established "Use" trail for a portion of the distance we went in, but the majority of the time was spent boulder hopping to make our way down. The farther down we went, the sweeter looking it got.
I guess now I have to do it from the more popular TH down on 89A, or maybe even a Top to Bottom Shuttle hike. |
