| partners | | after an amazing weekend in greer, it was time to head home. but not before i went to go see another lookout! i saw that lake mountain wasn't too far from our route, so we headed out to see it. i knew that at some point we'd encounter a fence or a gate that was locked, so we got out of the vehicle and hiked up the road. just about a quarter of a mile in, four atvs passed us!  and here i thought the sign said that no motorized vehicles were allowed. i was totally pumpkined. i knew they went through a protected riparian area in order to get around the gate, AND they totally took the easy way up. not cool. 
jeff (teambarstool) told me about half way up that he wasn't going to go the rest of the way, so i hiked up and tried to make it as brief a visit as possible - and i wanted to get a picture of the lawbreakers. the atv riders were just heading down when i rounded the corner, so i didn't catch them in the act. i snapped a few pictures of the structures, had a drink of water, and headed back down only to see jeff was almost there! we stayed a bit longer, and headed back down. |
