| no partners | | | So so hike, nice to get out in gorgeous weather and satisfy my curiosity. Parked where the road crossed the canyon and hiked up it. Might have crossed some private property, someone has a nice fancy home tucked away in the foot hills. Old ranch house converted to a nice guest house it looked like. On TOPO it mentions "red rock" and there is quite a bit in the wash, volcanic, some poor chalcedony, and the benches yielded some rock chippings. The head of the canyon has some notable red rock in it. Major bushwacking in the rock bowl at the head of this branch, and I wish I had gaitors for all the little grass seeds in my socks. |
