| no partners | | Brian and I started our hike around 4pm after chasing flowers all day ( well he sat or gave me pointers while I scrambled up steep scree slopes to the poppy spreads). We got down to just past the boulder choke. A pretty good flow and it was nice to be in the shade and wade in the cool water. Some nice pools but you could avoid most of those, as some of them were deep waders. I was up to above my knees in a couple of spots. We scared up about 6 coatis' but they were too fast for the camera. Fastest progress was along the southern wall. Beautiful emerald pool as the canyon started to flatten out. Cottonwoods were glowing green in the late light as we drove in. A nice area, wish we had more time. |
