| partners | | We parked at the gate and walked in through the field of cholla. This is a very used path for jeeps. We saw several parked trucks, a rhino and a dirt bike up to the fork at quail spring. We veered to the left towards the ruins. The climb is not gradual. There is a pretty aggressive assent to get to the ruins. The first push is up about 500 feet where you're on a small hill next to the one with ruins. Plenty of tracks from recreational vehicles. The second assent to the ruins is about the same but the trail is much smaller and far less traveled. The ruins are cool. You can make out where rooms were and what it must have been like to make that climb often. The first set of ruins is before the peak. Climbing to the peak easy just take your time. Great views and what may have been some authentic marking left by the original inhabitants. There was obviously some graffiti as well. The trip seemed much shorter than we had anticipated. Just to the south is another peak. We ended up circling it but not getting up on top. Several hikers indicated there were more ruins but we could find the right trail. Maybe another trip. |

| partners | | We went back and checked out the 'great room'. This is on top of the of the taller mountain. This was trailblazing most of the way. |
