Celebrated my 57th birthday at Picacho Peak State Park. We hiked up the Hunter Trail to the peak, then afterwards it was over to a picnic table for party time.

Note: Judging by the pictures, it was a lot better for flowers in 2005 than when I was just there on March 19, 2013. The green and promise of poppies around the first of March didn't pan out, as it was fading away with only a few on March 19th. Also, I don't go to this park very often; the last time I was there the new visitor center hadn't been built yet (guess it's about 3 years old now). The reason I went there was to buy an annual state parks pass. That's also something I rarely do, evidenced by the fact that the last time I bought one it was $40 (now $75)!
