Deb Moyer and I decided to set up a SAHC car camp with hikes in the fall since she didn't get to Devil's Chasm on her spring trip. We picked the Halloween weekend and it couldn't have worked out better! Most of the group went up Friday for two nights of camping, while a few came up Saturday morning. Saturday's hike was to the Devil's Chasm cliff dwelling. This is an adventure that definitely leaves a lasting impression. Our good-sized group made it without incident. We all enjoyed a festive night at camp following this tricky trek! Our camp was right at the "trailhead" for the Devil's Chasm hike/scramble...a perfect spot. Sunday morning it was a short drive to our parking spot for the Pueblo Canyon hike. This one is a little longer than Devil's Chasm with similar elevation gain, though less difficult and stressful. Both are great adventures!
Following the second hike it was time to break down the camp and head back to civilization. On our way back to Tucson we made the customary stop in Globe to fuel our vehicles and tummies. It was a great weekend; we enjoyed excellent weather and nobody got hurt.
