| partners | | southpawaz wanted to go up to mount kimball, but i didn't have it in me. he left me at linda vista saddle, while he motored on up. i sat at the saddle for a while before i got the bug. i had to climb whatever that was right next to me. i found a safe route up, looked around a bit, then came back down. i didn't bring anything with me up there, and i was expecting a text from southpawaz saying he was almost back down to the turnoff. i met him back there, and we headed down. my oh my was it getting toasty. i had just pointed to the shade of the cottonwood trees down by the spring, when suddenly i found myself head over heels. literally. i guess that i thought it might be faster to go down the trail with sideways somersaults (not cartwheels, as the bruises attest). i finally did make it down to that shade and had a little break and found no evidence of brokenness. nice day, but too warm for my blood to be down at that elevation at that time of day. we must find our way to higher ground soon. |
