| no partners | | Used this for a hot weather training hike. Just to the top and then out to the overlook. No Ruins or Loop this time, those hikes are too long for me in 107 degree heat.
I chilled a 3 liter Camelbak and I froze one in the freezer. The frozen one did not melt as fast as I needed the water - sort of like sucking on an ice cube. Won't do that again. I tried every trick I could think of to make it melt faster. Next time I will add ice cubes and chilled water.
No water on this hike in the summer. Cave Creek was dry and the spring and stock tank at the 3 1/2 mile mark were bone dry. |
