We started from the Woodbury Trailhead and headed up the JF Trail, the weather could not have been any nicer. After a quick lunch at the junction of the JF Trail and Rogers Canyon trail we headed on down to Angle Basin, very over grown with catclaw, very bloody.
Plenty of water in Angle Basin from the heavy rains last weekend and only one other camper, so we set up camp and started searching for fire wood, more catclaw but hardly any wood to be found. Got a little chile at night, about 38 degrees. It was good to get caught up with him around the fire.
The next morning we headed over to the ruins for about 1/2 hour, They did not disappoint.
We continued up Rogers Canyon to Rogers Trough Tailhead and down 172a to the crosscut to Woodbury. A very sceenic loop, a great trip to take a good friend on who has been gone a while. |
