| partners | | Wally said he wanted to hike Rogers Canyon, cache some water, hike to Reavis Grave and check out the ruins. Dave suggested we make it a loop. So we did all of the above. My first time on this trail and I enjoyed it. Some nice views. We made good time time to the Grave then headed down to the ruins. We saw a dead fawn carcas on trail. A lttle before the ruins we got to see a bunch of coatimundi. My first time seeing them.Very cool! The ruins were cool too! After the ruins we cached the water. From there we all got are cutters out for the next couple of miles through the catclaw.Didn't see a drop of water until the windmill but did shed a few drops of blood here and there. We came across a hiker from Houston,Texas by the JF Trail intersection. He had been out there camping a couple days.He said he was retired and comes out here in Nov. to enjoy the Supes. We headed back Woodbury then started the climb back up to Rogers Trailhead. That was the hardest spot although the catclaw section hurt a little. Great hike and workout. When we got back Dave had to go but Wally was buying dinner so I couldn't say no. Thanks Wally for driving and dinner, and to both of you for going! |
