| no partners | | I used to live right on the canal, in a condo on Orangewood, just west of 16th St, so getting on the Arizona Canal and taking off to Scottsdale, Tempe or Glendale was no big deal. Living where I do now -- in the Dead Zone between Thunderbird, Cave Creek and 7th St -- it is 2.5 miles just to get to the canal, let alone go anywhere after getting there. What a pain. Anyway, it's been nine months, so I figured I ought to start riding again. Yet, ever since I sent away for a Charles Atlas thing from the back of a comic book when I was like 8 or 10, I have failed to stick with an exercise program for more than a session or two. I mean, I hike regularly, but not on any set schedule, so it is easy to slack off, and one slack day can easily become months. Kinda like a 12 step program, it's easy to fall off the wagon. One day (or session) at a time. So, it is at least my intent to make Wednesday my long, go away, hike day; Friday a short backyard hike day, Sunday a bike day, and Monday another short backyard hike day. So, I've made it through the first week. Now, next week. 
Btw, I saw a guy very intently taking pictures around 12th St. That wasn't you, black toes, was it?  |
