| no partners | | I don't usually post my runs here, unless they are trail runs. This was mostly a road run, but I started at the top of Las Sendas and took the Hawes Loop Trail to where it connects with the Microwave Tower trail and headed up to tower. It's a steep climb for a trail run, gaining about 800 feet in about 1.2 miles, including a particularly steep climb over the last .2 before the top. this would be a great little training hike for anyone in the east valley wanting to give their "climbers" a workout, without having to do much travelling.
Once on top of the microwave tower trail, I followed the microwave tower service road over the back side, passing the "PHOENIX" sign painted on the mountain and the shooting range. I then took Ellsworth down to McDowell, and back to Las Sendas. It was a beautiful morning for a run with cloud cover and some rain/verga on the horizon, providing some nice backdrop for the views. I snapped a few photos with my iphone. |
