| no partners | | I mapped out a loop to cover most of the trails in the Giant Grove starting from Crescent Meadow. I headed out to Bobcat Point on the Sugar Pine Trail and was cruising along when a mere 30 yards in front of me a small black bear ran and climbed about six feet up a tree. It looked at me for a brief moment, climbed down and started walking towards me. I grabbed a branch and hit it against a tree to make some noise and the bear began to approach faster. I slowly backed away until I gained enough distance to flee the area without any threat. It was a small bear, but my adrenaline was going! |
