| no partners | | | Beautiful day on the trail. I hiked to the Patrol cabin at Indian Henry's Hunting Ground from Longmire last year so this year I opted to try the Kautz creek trail. A little shorter but seemed to be steeper. Bugs were bad in the upper meadows and around the Patrol cabin where we had lunch. Wildflowers are out in full force but I think we missed the height of bear grass season. Saw a couple of deer about a half mile or so from the Patrol cabin. Sunny and blue skies, couldn't ask for more. Kautz Creek doesn't get the traffic the Wonderland trail gets but I think we saw about 10 other hikers/backpackers out today. |
