Even though the weather forecast didn't look good, we decided to head up to Summerland and possibly Panhandle Gap. Weather looked good at the start but clouds quickly rolled in. Got a brief soaking just after crossing Frying Pan creek but afterwards things started to look a little better. Flowers are out but the best days are still to come I think. We continued on toward Panhandle Gap but the clouds gave us pause so we headed back down to the top of Summerland for an early lunch. When the thunder started we decided it was time to leave. Saw some lightening flashes, too but it seemed like most people weren't worried and there was still a steady stream of hikers headed up as we headed back down. Still, we enjoyed the hike and the time away from the Seafair madness.
