| no partners | | Took my brother-in-law from New York on a hike to show off our Arizona desert. He loved the views and enjoyed the entire trek up to Windgate Pass. As we walked down I thought it'd be great if we could spot some desert wildlife. 10 seconds later I turned a corner and the largest desert tortoise I've ever seen (granted, the bar is low) was sitting right smack in the middle of the trail, staring right at us. He or she posed nonchalantly for us as we took photos from every possible angle, to be uploaded later. I don't think my BIL will ever view the desert the same way. |
