| no partners | | After getting home from Tucson at 1 am this morning, I didn't get up in time for a full hike. I wasn't sure I'd make it up the road to the trailhead in the first place, after looking at the weather report: heavy snow advisory above 3500 feet... So I hiked as fast as I could this afternoon, through steady snow showers. Started out at the snow level (5500') with occasional patches of snow, and climbed up to the 6800 foot level where there was 6 inches of snow, before deciding to turn around, as I was concerned the Swift Trail may get covered in snow An incredible winter wonderland it was! There was a fair amount of fire damage on the north side of the ridge, but the views made up for it. Did a short hike on the nearby Round The Mountain trail before heading home. Driving back, it started snowing in Safford itself. Good times and crazy weather |
