| no partners | | This was my first run at AZ hiking. I set out for Hidden Valley to find Fat Man Pass just to see if I can squeeze myself through it. I failed to find the pass on the first 2 trips but I guess it was 3 times the charm that I finally came across it. Hidden valley is just that, a valley. There are only 2 ways in and I entered on the end opposite the pass. The hike was easy, and the weather was great. Doing the hike three times was a great opportunity for me to get a feel for the trail, and learn my way as a newbie hiker. There were butterflies and amazing geography to behold along the entire way. There were some great views of Central Phoenix as well but no rattle snakes. I was both grateful and bummed that I couldn't find any rattlers on my first few trips because it would be cool to get a picture of one live in the wilderness, but being a newbie I could possible get myself in the kind of trouble I want no part of. |
