Early morning hike on South Mountain with a couple of coworkers. We planned to include the Mormon Loop but we were having too much fun enjoying the views, talking shop and simply enjoying ourselves on a beautiful morning. Before we knew it, we had used up too much of our allotted time to finish the second loop

This was my first morning hike on SoMo and the first time hiking from the Mormon TH. It was also my first time through Fat Man's Pass

. I didn't think it was possible for me to make it through there, so I never tried. My friends showed me the way.

I like the start of the hike: a nice 600 ft boost in the first mile.
