| no partners | | Drove out to J-Bar Road to examine what looked like a slot canyon on Google Earth. I brought along my sidekick, Enzo, the dog. Other than starting at the Tule TH, not much more of this triplog involved the Tule Canyon Trail. From the sign at the TH, I followed the trail about 1/10 mile down to the wash. That pretty much covered my time on the actual trail. From here, I ignored the cairn crossing the wash and turn left, making my way downstream. Didn't get far before coming to a fenceline that crossed the wash. Did not see any signage that denotes private property and continued on along the wash.
At about .75 miles I came to the slot. It drops about 5 feet initially, and the walls quickly grow to about 30 feet on either side. Most the of the slot is about a sidewalk's width. The slot went on for about 1/8 mile before opening up into a wide open wash. Enzo and I turned around at this point then continued back through the slot and back to the car. Pretty cool little slot and easily accessible. |

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee. |
