| no partners | | This was a recon hike for a future trip. My motivation was low so I got a late start and didn't get to the trailhead until 10am. The Tule trail is in good shape and this is the first time I hiked it in daylight. There were sections of the trail I remembered from the night hike years ago (Tule to Peralta) but the scenery was all new. Nice views of Roosevelt Lake and the backside of Four Peaks as well as other interior buttes and canyons. I hiked to the Two Bar junction and then continued on Two Bar trail until 12:15pm. I stopped for lunch and could see Castle Dome in the distance. The terrain I hoped to travel was much more rugged than the topo map revealed so I think my original plan is best. The hike out was easy as most of the AEG is on the way in. Nice day in the Supes. |
