| partners | | One more Segment done! It was great to hike with Wendy who came along this time - Great to catch up.
We stayed at HiJinks Ranch for the night. Since it was considerably warmer than when we were out here 2 weeks ago -- I ventured out to photography the sunrise - specifically was after a sunrise shot with the gate to the AZT - I was quite happy to get the image I wanted! Spent pre-breakfast time have some fun with the sun ... nice way to start the day.
We hiked fast and uphill (S to N) and its was great to walk along through rolling hills through Oracle State Park. Surprisingly warm day for early Feb! Lunch was in a wash with not much shade and the final 1.6 miles up from American Flag to HiJink was hard work ...just felt way longer and harder than what the elevation gain led you to expect. We made the most of it ..stopping along the way and being educated by Wendy on the plants & geology along the way. |
