| no partners | | Joined the Trail Mix meetup hikers for a short trip down to Camp Creek Falls. There was water running over the falls! I certainly didn't expect that! There was also some small pools of water just above and just below the falls, both with the highest concentration of bees I've ever seen! I was hesitant to continue, but the rest of my group was ahead of me and had gone through without incident, so I pushed on. There was a nice sized owl flying around on the way in. Unfortunately, the only pictures I got of it were totally lousy, so bummed! I thought this was going to be a disappointing hike, but I really enjoyed it. The hike in features tall walls on either side of the wash and water flowing over the falls in late June, WOW!! This will be on my short list the next time we get a good rain, and it's not 110 degrees plus. |
