| no partners | | This was the last stop of the day. It was a little warmer at this elevation and the trail was a little nasty coming out of Noon Creek, therefore, I opted for an out and back and extended swim period for the dogs.
It was Cup's first real swim of the day and she obviously embraced it. The out and back also eliminated a .5 mile walk along the paved 366 which I was not really crazy about to begin with.
Despite hobbling around all day with limited motion in my leg and an aching back, the dogs and I were still pretty efficient. I was able to cross some things off my Pinelanos list and also added about a dozen prospective hikes to that list as well. All short hikes, but worthy destinations and no complaints from me, or the dogs. One really can't go wrong with a day in the Pinelanos no matter what the activity when the temps are so hot in Phoenix. I probably enjoyed driving around some of the areas near Riggs Lake, as much as I enjoyed the hikes, just a nice day in the mountains. |
